Runner Trading Cards for Daufuskie Island Marathon and Half

There are many reasons why to run the Daufuskie Island Marathon and Half. One of the main reasons is simply because of the venue. Daufuskie Island, South Carolina is one of the most beautiful, eclectic places on earth. It is the hidden gem of the Southern United States. And, it’s just a hop, skip and a swim from another beautiful South Carolina island, legendary Hilton Head Island, home of some of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast. And, it doesn’t hurt that USA Today has rated the Daufuskie Island Marathon as one of the top destination Half marathons in the world!

I can continue listing reasons why the DI Marathon and Half should be on your radar and/or bucket list but that’s not what this particular blog entry is about.

With this blog entry, I want to talk about the runner trading cards we make for each runner that runs any Run 4 a Reason | Rough Runners races.

After the Daufuskie Island Marathon and Half is over and done with, we begin pumping out runner trading cards for each participant of the 13.1 and 26.2 mile races. We go through all of the amazing pictures taken by Corey Brooks and Malcolm Tully and try and match a picture with a race bib and runner’s race stats. The process is lengthy because every runner is unique and each card is made manually. Adding to the time constraints are that this race has now grown to a 500+ runner race. So, it literally takes us a couple of months to do all the runner trading cards for the DI Marathon.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to make out every bib number from the pictures. So, there are always some runners that do not get a runner trading made for them simply because we could not find a clearly visible race bib to match to the runner and their stats for the race.

So, here is where you come in. If you have not seen your runner trading card for this year’s race, find a picture of you from the race, email it to me (dlh14255@gmail.com) along with your name and, I’ll do the rest. As I complete the runner trading cards I upload them to the Daufuskie Island Marathon Facebook page’s albums. The album for this year’s race is called: 2024 Daufuskie Island Marathon Runner Trading Cards.

The runner trading cards are yours to keep, share and/or print as you like. This is just a little gift we provide you as a keepsake to remember your achievement. It’ll compliment your medal and hopefully, put a smile on your face as you fondly recall this experience again and again.

If you choose to share your runner trading card on social media we ask that you please give a shoutout to the photographer of your picture. Every runner trading card mentions the photographer who took your picture.

Thank you for adding the Daufuskie Island Marathon and Half to your running journey! We are honored to have you run Daufuskie with us!

Take care, be well, run happy!

much love,
