Daufuskie Island Marathon Cancellation Policy
We understand things happen and you may not be able to attend the race. Please see our cancellation policy so you are aware before you decide to register.
100% refund minus race site fees- We offer insurance with the Daufuskie Island Marathon through the runsignup option at checkout. This is a 3rd party insurance so monitor you email post registration for confirmation. We highly recommend this very affordable option.
If you wish to defer to the next year's race we will accept deferrals until October 30.
Race bibs are strictly non-transferable.
The Ferry is a separate entity from the race and we will not refund ferry fees.

Race Day Timeline:
6:00 am: First ferry from 10 Haig Point Ct, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928 to Daufuskie Island. Ferry reserved for 26.2 runners, race staff, and volunteers.
6:30 am: second ferry from 10 Haig Point Ct, HHI, SC 29928 to Daufuskie Island. Ferry reserved for runners, Daufuskie Island staff. Next ferry at 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30
7:00 - 8:30 am: packet pickup on Daufuskie Island
8:20 am: National Anthem
8:30 am: Race start: 26.2 mile runners
9:20 am: National Anthem
9:30 am: Race start: 13.1 mile runners
12:30 ish pm: Awards ceremony for 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles (time may be adjusted due to finishers)
4:30 pm: Race officially over
Time to complete 26.2 - 8 hours, Time to complete 13.1 - 7 hours
Using the Ferry for the race
Each individual going to Daufuskie Island for the race must purchase a ferry pass.
If you are coming over to Daufuskie Island just for the race (on race day) you must catch the ferry at 10 Haig Point Ct, Hilton Head, SC 29928
If you are coming to Daufuskie Island before race day and staying in Haig Point, you catch the ferry at 10 Haig Point Ct, HH, SC 29928
If you are coming to Daufuskie Island before race day but staying OUTSIDE of Haig Point, please contact your rental owner for ferry address.
You may purchase a ferry pass under the tab “getting here” on this website.
You may pick up you physical ferry pass at packet pick up on Friday at 10 Haig Point Ct. HHI.
If you do not have your pass , On race day there will be a ticket table set up at the base of the HP Dock (10 Haig Point embarkation). Proceed to the table. You will need your ID and if you already purchased a ferry ticket, show reciept. Runners, spectators and volunteers will be given a ferry pass at the table.
There is a special 6:00 am ferry for the race. This ferry is for Volunteers, race staff only.
The ferry leaves promptly. For this reason we ask that you arrive early to your planned race. The ferry travel time to Daufuskie Island is 30 minutes. Please allow yourself enough time to park, visit the ferry ticket table and board the ferry.
Personal Boat to Daufuskie Island
If you plan to boat to Daufuskie Island for the race please call 843.686.2000 to make a reservation for space at Haig Point’s community dock which is a short walk to the start|finish. There is a $25 docking fee per boat. Please call in advance, then upon arrive see the Mansion attendant to check in.

Parking for the Race
You may park at the Haig Point embarkation parking lot. If parking lots fills up you may park along the side of the road (not obstructing traffic) all the way out to and around the traffic circle. We will have two parking attendants to assist.

Haig Point
Daufuskie Island, SC
Upon arriving at Daufuskie Island, runners and spectators wil be guided to the Runner’s Village. The Runner’s Village will have packet pickup, drop bag tent, coffee and breakfast tent. The Start/Finish area is located merely 200meters from Runner village.
Runners may drop off their bags at the bag drop tent. Be sure your bag is closed, has your name and bib number clearly and legibly on it. Your bag will be placed in a container and returned to you but you must show your race bib to get it back.
In the AM (pre-race) there will be cinnamon rolls, coffee. Haig Point will have breakfast sandwiches for a small fee also.
Around 11:00 am, lunch will be provided for runners and spectators. Runners must get a food and beer ticket from the ticket tent then proceed to the buffet style meal provided by the Chef from Haig Point. Runners meals are included in the registration. Spectators must purchase a Food Ticket ($10.00) and/or beer ticket ($3) from the ticket tent. Beer will be available to anyone over the age of 21. You must have an ID to consume alcoholic beverages.
Shuttle Service Provided into Haig Point
Gas powered golf carts are not allowed in Haig Point, only electric golf carts.
If you have a gas powered golf cart please park outside of the South Gate on Haig Point road. Every twenty minutes starting at 6:30 am on race day a shuttle will pick up runners and take them to the shuttle drop-off by the race start. The South Gate is approximately 2.5 miles from the Start|Finish line.
After your race the shuttle will take runners back to the south gate starting at 12pm, once an hour till the race is over. Schedule is 12:00pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm. the last shuttle will run depending on when everyone has finished.
Course, Aid Stations and Restrooms
The race course is 13.1 miles USATF certified. It is flat and fast. Approximately 90% of the course is on paved road. The remainder of the course is flat, hard-packed unpaved roads consisting of dirt or hard packed crushed oyster shells.
Please note that the course is on open roads. Roads will not be closed to traffic. There are not many automobiles on Daufuskie Island. Always run against the traffic! There are more golf carts on the roads than there are cars.
The Haig Point gate on Haig Point Road will be open at 6:30 am on race day.
There are three water stations on the course. Water stations 1 and 2 are across the road from another and service the following mile points: 2.4, 5.5, 9.2 miles. There is a portable toilet by two these water stations. There is another water station at the 12 mile mark. All three aid stations will have GU Energy products.
Restrooms on the course: 2.4 mile mark -aid station 1, 4.5 mile mark -Freeport, 5.5 mile mark -aid station 2, 6 mile mark -Fire Station, 8.8 mile mark - Fire Station, 9.2 mile mark -aid station 2.
Timing
The race will be chip timed with a chip start.
Please place your race bib on the front of your body.
Race Finish
After receiving your medal please proceed to the Runner’s Village for lunch and drinks. Registered runners lunch is included at no cost.
Free medal engraving is available at the race. PLease take your medal to the engraving tent if youd like your medal personalized.
Lunch- Lunch for spectators is $10 and Beer is $3. Must be over 21. Haig Point accepts card or cash.
If you plan on leaving shortly after your finish please check with us to see if you placed before you leave.
