At 77 years of age, Bob Becker is the oldest Badwater 135 mile ultra finisher. A feat he accomplished in June 2022.
We are so excited to announce our special guest speaker for the 2023 Daufuskie Island Marathon Pre-Race dinner is legendary ultra runner, Bob Becker. In the ultra running world, Becker is known as the GOAT of ultra running.
Mr. Becker has run some of the most difficult and iconic ultra races on earth. Point in fact, he has run (50 ultramarathons since his first at age 60. These include Badwater 135 twice (actually, five times), Marathon Des Sables, Brazil 135, Javalina (Javelina) 100, Mt. Gaoligong (China), Badwater Cape Fear. He’s also run the Boston Marathon.
Bob Becker is the Race Director for the Keys 100 mile ultra and, the Daytona 100.
Adding to his adventure achievements, Mr. Becker has also climbed Kilimanjaro.
