COVID update 01/04/2022 KDulina

Daufuskie Island Marathon will be held on January 15, 2022.


 


Due to continuous changes in the Covid-19 virus, alterations may and will be made accordingly. 

As of January 4, 2022 Daufuskie Island Marathon will take the following precautions. 


We do not require that you show your vaccination status in order to participate in this race, we do however, ask that you act in good faith for the human race. If you are ill or have felt ill please remain home. If you have not been vaccinated we ask that you wear a mask when you are within 6 feet of another person and/ or indoors.

We ask that race participants and guests remain outside of the Welcome Center while awaiting the ferry. 

Race participants and guests may not enter the Welcome Center at 10 Haig Point unless to use the restroom. Please maintain a safe distance. Please limit to 4 people in the Welcome Center at a time. 

Aboard the ferry- It is mandated that everyone, regardless of vaccination status,  wear a mask aboard the ferry, in and/ or out of the cabin. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you. This is a 30 min ferry ride. No exceptions. 

Race participants and guests will be directed to the Runner’s Village as they exit the ferry on Daufuskie Island.  Race participants and guests will be instructed not to enter the Strachan Mansion on race morning. There will be plenty of porta- toilets available. 

If you are attending the Pasta dinner or Mimosa brunch- We ask that you wear a mask when in the buffet line, it may be removed after you are seated. Please maintain social distancing. 

It is our goal that everyone has the freedom to participate and continue to do so in the Daufuskie Island Marathon. We ask that all runners and guests exercise patience due to these measures as they are being adjusted to ensure everyone’s well being.
